Terms of Service

Last updated 4 October 2026

Mirch is a place to share and discover what’s worth ordering: real dishes, rated by people who eat them. Mirch is run by an independent developer in Ontario, Canada (“Mirch”, “we”, “us”). These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use the Mirch app or website.

By creating an account or using Mirch, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Mirch.

01

Your account

You need to be at least 13 years old to use Mirch, or older where the law of your country requires it.

  • Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your sign-in details to yourself.
  • You’re responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at support@mirch.app if you think someone else is using it.
  • One person, one account. Don’t impersonate anyone, or a restaurant, or pretend to be affiliated with one.

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account. That permanently removes your profile and everything you posted, as described in our Privacy Policy.

02

What you post

Your posts (photos, videos and their sound, scores, ratings, prices, tags, captions, comments, lists and menu photos) stay yours. Posts, comments and your profile are public to other Mirch users, and parts of your profile appear on your public invite page.

By posting, you give Mirch a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, adapt (for example resize, transcode or summarise) and distribute your content in order to run, improve and promote Mirch. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for menu photos and dishes you added to a restaurant (which stay so others can use them), content others have already shared, and anything we must keep by law.

Only post what you have the right to post, including the right to show anyone who appears or can be heard in it. Reviews and prices should reflect your own honest experience.

03

Community standards

Mirch has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not post or comment anything that:

  • harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone;
  • attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or serious illness;
  • contains nudity or sexual content, or sexualises minors in any way;
  • shows graphic violence, or promotes self-harm or dangerous or illegal activity;
  • is spam, a scam, an ad, paid or fake reviews, or misleading claims about a restaurant or dish;
  • has nothing to do with food, drink or places to eat;
  • shares someone else’s private information, or infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark or other rights.

04

Moderation, reporting and blocking

Automatic checks. New posts and comments are screened automatically before other people see them, and again when you change a caption or add photos. Posts and comments with nudity, sexual content, graphic violence, hate or threats are removed and recorded. Posts that don’t seem to be about food or a place to eat are held for a person to review. Until a post is checked, only you can see it.

Reports. Every post, comment and profile has a Report option. A reported post is checked again automatically straight away and removed if it breaks these rules, and a post reported by two or more people is hidden until we’ve looked at it. We act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours, removing the content and the account that posted it.

Blocking. You can block anyone. Blocking hides their posts, comments and profile from you, and yours from them, and ends any follows between you.

Enforcement. We may remove any content and suspend or permanently remove any user who breaks these terms, with or without a report and without notice where needed to keep people safe. We may preserve content and share it with authorities where the law requires it or someone is at risk. If you think we, or our automated checks, got it wrong, write to support@mirch.app and a person will take another look.

05

Restaurant information

Restaurant details such as names, addresses, opening hours and photos come partly from Google Maps Platform and partly from diners. By using those features you also agree to the Google Maps Terms of Service.

We don’t guarantee restaurant information. Opening hours, prices, menus, and dietary labels such as halal, vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free are reported by diners or third parties and may be wrong or out of date. They aren’t a certification. If you have an allergy or a dietary or religious requirement, always check directly with the restaurant before you order.

06

AI features and recommendations

Scores, taste matches, “for you” picks, group picks, search results, dish summaries, your taste summary and menus read from photos are produced automatically, partly by AI models. They’re estimates and opinions drawn from what diners post, and they can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Use your own judgement, and don’t rely on them for anything important such as allergies or health.

07

Using Mirch fairly

  • Don’t scrape, copy or harvest Mirch content or data in bulk, or use bots to post, like or follow.
  • Don’t try to break, overload or get around the security, rate limits or moderation of Mirch, or access other people’s accounts.
  • Don’t use Mirch to break the law, or to advertise or promote a business you’re connected to without saying so.

08

Suspension and ending

You can stop using Mirch and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we’re required to by law, or if we stop offering Mirch. Where it’s reasonable and safe we’ll tell you why. The sections on what you post, disclaimers, liability and governing law continue after your account ends.

09

Disclaimers and liability

Mirch is free and provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free, or that what other diners post is correct. Your visits to restaurants, and anything you eat there, are between you and the restaurant.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Mirch isn’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for content posted by other users, restaurants or third parties, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to CA$100. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be waived, or liability that can’t be limited by law.

10

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Ontario. If you live elsewhere, you keep any protections the law where you live gives you, including the right to bring a claim in your local courts.

11

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as Mirch changes. If a change is significant we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect; continuing to use Mirch afterwards means you accept it. If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Questions about these terms: support@mirch.app.
